EngiLab Frame.2D 2021 v3.5
Release: Nov. 26, 2021

  • Major bug fix: Due to a bug, the intermediate displacements of members did not show up correctly in the displacement drawing on the screen, in the case of Elemental load or Body load on the Element. The bug is present in versions 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4 of the program, but it does not affect older versions (Beam.2D v2.x). Note that this is not an error in the analysis. All FEM analysis results are still correct and accurate. This has to do only with the intermediate displacements shown on the screen when drawing the deformed shape of the model.
ALL users of v3.x of the program should upgrade to v3.5
as soon as possible, to avoid this bug.
  • Zoom previous functionality has been improved. The button is disabled when there is no previous zoom.
  • The intermediate displacement of a point along an Element is now reported in both Global axes, and Element Local axes. Previously, only displacements in local axes were reported. Now dX, dY stand for global axes displacements and dx, dy stand for local (Element) axes displacements. All four values are now given on screen.
  • Minor bug fixes and improvements.

EngiLab Frame.2D 2021 v3.4
Release: Sep. 7, 2021

  • The exe file is now signed by EngiLab using a code signing certificate. Previously it was not and in some systems Windows Defender identified the program (falsely) as a threat.

EngiLab Frame.2D 2021 v3.1
Release: Aug. 19, 2021

  • The examples in the installation directory were not readable by v3.0, this is now fixed in v3.1.
  • Other minor bug fixes and small improvements.

EngiLab Frame.2D 2021 v3.0
Release: Aug. 12, 2021

  • Program name changed from EngiLab Beam.2D to EngiLab Frame.2D.
  • Nodes are highlighted on screen when they are selected in the Nodes form.
  • Elements are highlighted on screen when they are selected in the Elements form.
  • Nodes: New, more efficient internal tab system for the Nodes form.

  • Elements: New tool for renumbering the selected Elements, based on various criteria.
  • New Undo/Redo function in the Nodes and Elements forms.
  • Any change in the forms is now registered in the model history, one by one. This is not the case in the Materials and Section forms which remain as they were, i.e. changes in the Model are registered only after the form is closed.
  • The Volume and Mass of each element are reported in the Elements form, as read only properties, together with the Length.
  • New settings for showing the decimals of Volume and Mass.
Nodes: New option to add a new Node based on the coordinates of a selected (or the previously defined) Node.
  • Nodes: New option to copy Nodes several times instead of only once.

EngiLab Beam.2D 2018 v2.5
Release: May 10, 2018

  • There was a mistake in the program's help file, in the "System of Units" page, that was corrected. The Steel Density (US Unit (in)) is now given as 7.34544493×10-4 blob/in3 (lbf·s2/in4) which is the correct value.
  • Quick way to save a full analysis report (in the results section, "Full Report (RTF)" tab), with Ctrl+S.
  • Report files are now automatically named based on the model file name as ”FileName – Report.rtf”.
